Welcome

Especially for beginners....simplifying the process of learning to paint with watercolors.
Watercolors are not only fun, they can be an inexpensive introduction to painting.  I'll describe the basic tools and supplies in a moment.
Watercolors are water soluble pigments used on special watercolor paper.  Watercolors are generally painted without the use of white…the transparency of the paint allowing the white of the paper to glow through instead.  Occasionally, some artists use a small amount of white, but the purist approach is not to use any white paint at all.

Watercolor paints are available in tubes and in "pans".  Water is alwaĆ·s added to dilute pigments into a "wash".  You'll need a palette for mixing different colored washes before applying.
